Are You Sure?

Are you 100% sure that if you died today that you would go to heaven? God doesn’t want us to have any doubt. Doubt and uncertainty come from the devil, who wants to take our peace and joy from us. But God wants us to be sure. He says in His Word that we can be sure. I John 5:13 says “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe in the name of the Son of God.” If you’re not sure, would you want to be sure? It’s very easy to be sure, God made it simple for all of us. There’s just a few things we need to know. First we need to acknowledge that we are all sinners, and that we don’t deserve heaven, we deserve hell. Why? Because God Is the one who sets the standard, and He is perfect. Are we perfect? No, we’ve all made mistakes. The Bible says we are all sinners. Romans 3:10 says “As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one.” The Bible also says in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God.” So we’ve all sinned. Lied, stole, bad thought, etc. Do you agree with God that you are a sinner? It only takes one lie to make you a liar, one murder to make you a murderer, and one sin to make you a sinner. The problem is one sin makes us imperfect, while God is and always will be perfect. So how can God let us into heaven, to be with Him forever if we’re sinners? He can not. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death…” So if we get what we deserve, not what we want, but what we deserve, we deserve to go to hell because we’ve sinned against God. So first we recognize we are all sinners, second we understand that we deserve to go to hell because of our sin. Now let’s get to the good news. God does not want any of us to go to hell. It was not prepared for people, but for the devil and his fallen angels. God sent Jesus to die for us, so we could live forever with Him in heaven. The last part of Romans 6:23 says, “…But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Jesus took all our sins upon Himself and died on the cross in our place. We deserved that punishment, but Jesus endured it for us because He loves us. Romans 5:8 says, “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” God showed us love, even when we didn’t deserve His love. God is gracious and merciful towards us. He wants all of us to be saved from sin. (II Peter 3:9) Would you like for Jesus to save you today? Would you like for Him to come into your life, and forgive all your past and prepare you for a great future and life with Him? Do you want a fresh start? He’s willing to save you today, but you have to be willing to trust Him today. Trusting in Him means you put all your trust and faith in Him and not in your good deeds or how much you’ve gone to church. That won’t save you, only Jesus can save you (John 14:6) if you’re ready to do that today. It’s very simple. Jesus is only a prayer away. The Bible says in Romans 10:9-10, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Then Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved.” All you have to do is call upon Jesus. If you want to do that today and you’re willing to turn from your sin and ask Jesus into your heart then bow your head, close your eyes and pray this prayer: Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner. I don’t deserve heaven; I deserve to go to hell. Thank you Jesus for dying for me, so I wouldn’t have to go there. I believe You died on the cross to take away my sins, were buried in a tomb, and rose from the dead on the third day. I believe you are the only way to heaven. Please come into my heart today, please forgive me of my sins today, and please save me today. I’m sorry for my sins Lord. Please help me to live for You from this day forward. Thank you Jesus for saving me. In Jesus name I pray, amen. If you said this prayer, please let us know in the comments. Now if you died today, you can be sure you are going to heaven! Thank you Jesus for saving me!
